PROGRAMS

Admission to programs is determined on an individual basis based on services needed and funding.  Individuals may be referred by government agencies, independent support coordinators or may do self-referrals.  Admission is contingent on availability of a suitable program to meet the needs of the individual.

Scholarships for Adult Day Training are available for individuals 18 and older diagnosed with a developmental disability and not receiving funding from governmental sources for the services.  Scholarships are contingent on funding and availability.  Call 386-752-1880, ext. 104 for information.

CLIENT SERVICES

Adult Day Training
The following services and activities are available to support each individual and to help them achieve their goals: 

  1. Specialized training in the activities of daily living, adaptive and social skills, and self-advocacy. 
  2. Vocational training and paid work through the manufacture and sale of various products, retail work, and lawn maintenance.
  3. Adult Basic Education provided by the Columbia County School Board
  4. Social activities such as parties and dances.
  5. Community activities and field trips.
  6. Arts and crafts
  7. Outdoor sports

Companion Services
Supervision and socialization activities are provided on a one-on-one basis to support each individual and to help them achieve their goals.  This can be provided in the individual’s home to assist with daily activities such as meal preparation, laundry and light housekeeping tasks or in the community to assist with shopping or learning how to access resources in the community of interest to the individual.

Personal Care Assistance
Assistance with personal care activities is provided on a one-to-one basis in the individual’s own home or family home or while individual is engaged in a community activity. Examples of assistance are meal preparation, bathing, dressing, personal hygiene and other self care activities.

In-Home Supports
Assistance in activities of daily living and companionship is provided on a one-to-one basis in the individual’s own home or family home or while engaged in activities in the community. 

Supported Employment Services
Training, assistance, and support are provided to individual on a one-to-one basis to sustain paid employment in the community or in operating a small business.  Training is provided in specific skills needed to maintain such employment.  Assistance and consultation is provided to the employer whenever needed to provide supports necessary to ensure continued employment.

Transition Services
Training, assistance, and support are provided to students who will be graduating from the Columbia County school system to acclimate the student to CARC’s programs.   With this service, students will adapt better when entering CARC’s programs upon graduation.

Respite Services
Provide supportive care and supervision when the primary caregiver is unable to perform these duties.
Overnight care is available.
